What: Chrism Mass.
The Chrism Mass is a great preparation for Easter as the Cardinal blesses all the oils that will be used in the year ahead for the Sacraments. All those who are received into the Church at Easter will be anointed with the Oil of Chrism, which was consecrated by the Cardinal together with all the Priests of the Archdiocese at the Chrism Mass. It’s also a Mass in which the Cardinal and all the priests renew their own promises that they made at ordination. It’s a beautiful moment of communion between the priests and their bishop, and a very visible sign of the connection of Cardinal Seán to all the parishes throughout the Archdiocese.
