April 29, 2009 - Archdiocese of Boston Statement on Swine Flu in Lowell

There have been media reports indicating that two school students in Lowell were diagnosed with swine flu. 

The Archdiocese of Boston has been in contact with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH).  The DPH has assured us today that no school has been involved in this health related issue that was announced earlier.  The students involved were not in school at any time when their illness surfaced.  The DPH informed us that there is no risk to anyone in a school setting in this case.
