Mass to celebrate the canonization of Saint John Paul II and the change of name for Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy to Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy. Presentation of a prayer chain created by the First communion classes at Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy. Courtney Wahle from the Archdiocese, who was on pilgrimage for the canonizations, brought the prayer chain to the Canonization Mass and was present for the Holy Father’s Final Blessing to those in attendance. The Church will be filled with students from Grades 3-8 attending Saint John Paul II Catholic Academy. 800 students from all campuses of the academy will be in attendance. Prayers will be offered in several different languages. Fr. Jim Flavin, Episcopal Vicar for the Central Region, will celebrate the Mass. Among the other priests participating are Fr. Vincent E. Daily (pastor of St. Gregory Parish), Fr. Jack Ahern (pastor of Holy Family, St. Peter and Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta parishes), Fr. William Joy (pastor Saint Angela Merici Parish and St. Matthew Parish).
