Braintree, MA (January 14, 2014) - Cardinal Seán O’Malley will lead a group of more than 750 young adults from the Archdiocese of Boston to Washington, DC for the 40th annual March for Life on January 22, 2014. This is the largest number of attendees sent from the Archdiocese.
Fr. Matt Williams, Director of the Office for the New Evangelization of Youth and Young Adults in the Archdiocese said, “I am overjoyed by the tremendous response of so many young people who desire to accompany their Cardinal in bearing witness to the dignity of all human life, especially the most vulnerable in our society - the unborn.”
The Boston contingent will be departing from Washington via bus on the morning of Monday, January 20, 2014 from various locations in the Archdiocese. Examples of some of the departure points, St, Mary's in Lynn will be gathering at 10:30pm and leaving at 11:00pm on Monday night, Jan. 20th. They will have Mass and pizza before boarding bus for Washington. Cardinal Spellman high school will be gathering at 6:30am and leaving by 7:00am on Monday morning, Jan. 20th. Everyone else will be gathering at designated departure points at 5:30am and leaving by 6:00am on Monday, January 20th.
Fr. Matt added, “I praise and thank God for the gift and powerful witness of all the leaders in our parishes and schools who pour out their lives in service to our young people and who have made this Pilgrimage for Life an important part of their ministry. We could never have numbers like this if it were not for these leaders who have a passionate love for the Lord Jesus, His kids and His Gospel of Life."
