January 30, 2012 - Labels Are For Jars Lent Program*

Labels Are For Jars raises money to feed hungry people through the Cor Unum Meal Center in Lawrence.  Cor Unum currently serves more than 225,000 restaurant-quality meals a year, at a cost of one dollar per meal. 

Labels Are For Jars organizes an annual Lent Program, which has proven to be very popular in many Catholic communities.  The Labels Lent Program includes:

• an information sheet that explains Labels and Lent, with a cut-off label that people attach to jars for their almsgiving during Lent
• a day-by-day Lent Guide, which includes scripture passages and reflections for each day of Lent

All materials are free.  They may be downloaded for week-by-week publication in parish/school bulletins, as well as for print or electronic distribution to a wide variety of constituencies, including young people.
