Braintree, MA (July 2, 2015) – Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley has approved the pastoral plans for ten collaboratives all included in Phase One of the implementation of Disciples in Mission – A Pastoral Plan for the Archdiocese of Boston. This is a milestone moment for the collaboratives in developing innovative and effective plans for evangelization.
Cardinal Seán said, “We are grateful for the commitment of the pastors and parishioners in each of the collaboratives. The development of these pastoral plans will guide the collaboratives in their mission and ministry on behalf of the people of God. We are confident these faithful efforts will result in a strengthening of our parishes and renewal among the people of God.”
Fr. Paul Soper, Secretary for Evangelization and Discipleship, said, “These plans are the fruit of the hard work of many at the parish level. We are inspired by their dedication. Our prayer is one with them in gratitude for the work of the Phase I clergy, staff, and parishioners. May God prosper the work of their hands.”

The goal of Disciples in Mission is that “every Parish become a center of the New Evangelization,” to grow the Church and provide the Church with a richness of vocations. These are parishes that are strong, stable, intentional and effective. Together they develop pastoral plans for their local collaborative, focused on serving the needs of the parishes in their particular collaborative and advancing the mission of the New Evangelization.
