"As a result of a number of students exhibiting flu-like symptoms, the Columbia Campus at Pope John Paul II Catholic Academy, will close for seven days beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, June 9th and will reopen on Tuesday, June 16th. Campus officials have been monitoring the situation for several days and taken additional steps to clean the school to avoid the spread of infection. However, today the number of students out with flu like symptoms increased more than normal. Currently there are 7 confirmed cases of the H1N1 flu. Parents are being notified today and students will be provided their assignments for the next seven days and reading lists will be posted on the school website at www.popejp2catholicacademy.org. School officials are working with the Archdiocese to coordinate sanitizing of the entire school campus."
