June 9, 2017 - Seven Seminarians to be Ordained Transitional Deacons in the Archdiocese of Boston

Saturday, June 10, 2017,  Ordination 10 a.m.,  Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA 

Most Reverend Peter J. Uglietto, Vicar General and Moderator of the Curia for the Archdiocese of Boston, will ordain seven seminarians as Transitional Deacons on Saturday, June 10, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Holy Name Parish in West Roxbury, MA.

Ordination as a transitional deacon comes as a seminarian is in the final stages of his theological studies and is the last major step toward ordination to the priesthood, which usually follows within a year. The first of three ranks of ordained ministry in the Church, deacons may baptize, preside at weddings and rites of Christian burial, assist a priest or bishop at Mass, proclaim the Gospel and deliver homilies.

From Brookline, MA he is a seminarian at Pope St. John XXIII Seminary.

Joseph Kim  
From New York, NY he is a seminarian at St John Seminary. 

Lambert Nieme  
From the Democratic Republic of Congo and Belgium he is a seminarian at Pope St. John XXIII Seminary. 

Benito Moreno  
From Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic he is a seminarian at the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary. 

Andrea Povero  
From Ivrea, Italy he is a seminarian at the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary. 

Michael Rora  
From Stoneham, MA he is a seminarian at St John Seminary.

Eric Velasquez  
From Tegucigalpa, Honduras he is a seminarian at the Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary.
