The Light is on For You initiative highlights the importance of the Sacrament Reconciliation in the life of Catholics and increases its availability for Catholics. Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, penitence, almsgiving and self-sacrifice in preparation to celebrate the passion of Christ, His death on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Each year, the season of Lent provides an opportunity to renew faithfulness, and for those who have been away from the regular practice of the faith this initiative offers a chance to begin again.
Beginning tonight, confessions will be available during Lent on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 – 8:00 PM in all parishes/collaboratives of the Archdiocese. The actual dates are March 12, 19, 26, April 2, 9, & 16.
The Archdiocese has set up a website, www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org with material to help with personal preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
All are invited to visit and encouraged to extend the invitation to others to take advantage of this great opportunity to be reconciled with and begin anew a journey in faith during the Lenten season.
