At SJPII Catholic Academy’s Columbia campus, a school-wide competition for reciting the most digits of pi is a favorite among students. Even in the midst of being displaced from their school building because of water damage following the recent snow storms, these middle schoolers are keeping their eyes on the pi.
Last years champion, 6th grader Mark Tran, recited 199 digits of pi. This, week with his classmates cheering him on, Mark not only beat his own record, but came close to breaking the all-time school record, reciting a whopping 278 digits!
