Archbishop Richard G. Henning, S.T.D. will celebrate his first St. Patrick's Day Masses as Archbishop of Boston. He will also participate in the annual Scituate St Patrick's Day Parade.
His schedule over the weekend leading into the Mass at the Cathedral on Monday, March 17 follows:
Saturday, March 15
4:30pm Mass

Scituate Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade

Monday, March 17

Archbishop Henning is the main celebrant. Reverend Seán Maher will serve as the homilist. Born and raised in Ireland, Fr. Maher was ordained to the priesthood in the Archdiocese of Boston in 2009. He currently is the pastor of the St. J's Collaborative which includes the parishes of Our Lady of Grace in Groton-Pepperell-Dunstable and Saint John the Evangelist in Townsend-Ashby.
When: Annual St. Patrick's Day Mass at noon on Monday, March 17.
Location: Cathedral of the Holy Cross, 1400 Washington St, Boston, MA.
Mass will include the blessing and distribution of shamrocks, a harpist, bagpipes, and Irish step dancers. Since Saint Patrick is the patron saint of the Archdiocese of Boston, his memorial is celebrated as a Feast.
In addition to the Cathedral Choir, the Mass will feature Irish musicians
Irish Tenor Ciarán Nagle (formerly of Riverdance and the Three Irish Tenors) and Irish Folk musicians: Tara Novak, fiddle and Dan Meyers, uilleann pipes, whistle.
