Braintree, MA -- The 2017 Catholic Appeal will be announced in parishes of the Archdiocese of Boston this weekend (March 4 & 5). Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley, will lead commitment weekend which takes place the following weekend (March 11 & 12).
The Catholic Appeal helps to fund the many ministries that serve our parishes, schools, community programs, and other affiliated organizations throughout the Archdiocese. These ministries enable the Archdiocese to make the Gospel real and vibrant in the lives of the faithful and assist in reaching out to those in need of spiritual, emotional, and physical care and support.
Cardinal Seán said, “The Catholic Appeal is, among other things, helping to strengthen parishes, educating the next generation of saints and scholars, caring for all impacted by the scourge of addiction, and inspiring young men and women to consider a vocation with the Church. To the thousands of donors to the Catholic Appeal, thank you for your help to evangelize our faithful about the beauty of the saving ministry of Jesus Christ. Regardless of one’s station in life we welcome your support and prayers for a successful 2017 Appeal.”
