May 17, 2019 - Cardinal Seán P. O'Malley To Ordain 13 Priests

(Braintree, MA) … Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley will ordain thirteen men to the Priesthood this Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the newly renovated Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The Ordination Mass begins at 10:00 A.M. This will be the largest group of newly ordained priests in the Archdiocese in nearly two decades
Cardinal Seán said, “As priests we are called to embrace a life of holiness, discipleship and service. These newly ordained priests will bring the sacramental presence and the care and compassion of Jesus Christ to the people they serve. We thank them for the commitment to join their fellow priests in the Archdiocese and throughout the Church in witnessing the presence of the Lord to Catholics from all walks of life and all people in their parishes and local communities.”  
The CatholicTV Network will broadcast the entire Mass live from the Cathedral beginning at 10:00 A.M. Bishop Robert Reed will be providing commentary during the ordination for viewers. Rev. Joseph Roy Almeida
Born in Rockville, Conn., on March 19, 1983, Father Almeida is the fifth of the eight children of Joseph Almeida and the late Judith (Cormier) Almeida. He has four sisters: Mary Paige; Angela Sonntag; Rachel and Christie Almeida; and three brothers Adam; John Paull; and Mark.
He attended public schools in Massachusetts: Rowe Elementary in Rowe; and Mohawk Trail in Shelburne Falls for both middle and high school. He has a degree in computer information systems; and a BA in philosophy and MA in theology, the latter two degrees from St. John Seminary.
During his deacon year, he has been assigned to St. Mary of the Assumption, Brookline; He will celebrate his First Mass there on May 19, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. He is an alumnus of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary.
Rev. Maciej Araszkiewicz
A proud son of Poland, Maciej was born on May 26, 1978, in Bydgoszcz, the oldest of the three children of Marek and Jadwiga (Wozniak) Araszkiewicz. He has a younger brother, Witold, and a younger sister, Anna.
He attended schools in his native Poland; and has two advanced degrees: a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from University of Technology and Agriculture, Bydgoszcz; and an MA in computer science from the University of Nicolaus Copernicus, Torun.
An alumnus of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary, he has served his deacon assignment at Our Lady of the Assumption, East Boston.
He will celebrate Masses of Thanksgiving there on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. in Spanish and on Sunday, May 26, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. in English.
Rev. Corey Bassett-Tirrell
Father Bassett-Tirrell was born in Barnstable on Sept. 16, 1980, one of the two sons of Gary and Donna (Bassett) Tirrell. He has a brother Jamie. He attended elementary and middle school on Cape Cod, at Chatham Elementary and Chatham Middle-High School and graduated from East Boston High School.
He attended Mount Ida College and obtained certification in mortuary science. He worked for a number of years in funeral services before entering Pope St. John XXIII Seminary.
During his deacon year, he has been assigned at St. Bridget, Framingham. Father Bassett-Tirrell will celebrate his First Mass at St. Adelaide, Peabody, on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.; Father David Skoblow will be the homilist.
Rev. Christopher John Boyle
Father Christopher J. Boyle was born in Boston on Sept. 19, 1978, the fourth of the 13 children of Arthur and Judith (Foley) Boyle. He has six brothers: Arthur, Brendan, Brian, Timothy, Nicholas and Andrew; and five sisters: Jennifer Pichay, Michelle Larnard, Kathryn Griffin, Julianne Rodgers, and Gabrielle Boyle; another brother, Joseph is deceased. His father is employed in the Archdiocese of Boston Development Office and is a published author/speaker (Six Months to Live: Three Guys on the Ultimate Quest for a Miracle).
Raised on the South Shore he attended South Elementary School and Hingham Junior High School both in Hingham and Boston College High School, Dorchester.
He received a BA in communications from St. Joseph College, Standish, Maine. Following college graduation he, with his parents, set up a home for the care of autistics adults. He then taught history and theology at Catholic Memorial High School in West Roxbury, coached football, baseball and swimming.
He is an alumnus of the Pontifical North American College at Rome; and was granted an STB (Bachelor of Sacred Theology) from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (the Angelicum) and is a candidate for the STL (Licence in Sacred Theology) from the Angelicum.
During his deacon year, he has been serving at Avian Air Base, a United States Air Force installation in Aviano, Italy.
Father Boyle will celebrate his First Mass at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart, Hanover, on Sunday, May 19, 2019. The parish’s pastor and 2019 Silver Jubilarian, Father Christopher Hickey, will be the homilist.
Rev. Marcos Enrique
The oldest of the 11 children of Antonio and Maria Reyes (Cifres) Enrique, Marcos was born in Valencia, Spain on Oct. 20, 1983. He has four sisters: Rebeca Heredia, Ester Reyes, Monica and Elena Enrique; and six brothers: Pedro, Andres, Santiago, Juan Pablo, Esteban and David. His father, Antonio, is the Editor of The Pilot, the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of Boston. 
He attended elementary school at Colegio LaSalle in Paterna, Spain, before he came to the United States with his family and attended middle school at Donald McKay, East Boston, and John D. O’Bryant High School, Roxbury, and Newman Preparatory School, Boston.
He has a BA from the Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C. and has pursued graduate studies in philosophy at Boston College. 
Prior to entering St. John Seminary, he was youth minister at Immaculate Conception, Revere; director of admissions at Cristo Rey Boston, Dorchester; and both youth minister and DRE at St. Thomas Aquinas, Jamaica Plain.
During his deacon year, he served at three Billerica parishes: St. Mary, St. Andrew and St. Theresa of Lisieux. He will celebrate his first Mass at St. Joseph-St. Lazarus, East Boston, on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 4:00 p.m.
Rev. Timothy Paul Hynes
Born on Dec. 10, 1982 in Nashua, N.H., Father Hynes is the fifth of the seven children of Francis and Jacqueline (Fortier) Hynes. He has three brothers: Kevin and Jeffrey both older, and Brian, younger. He also has an older sister, Jennifer Harrington; and a younger one, Christen Fitts. Another brother, older than Timothy, Mark, is deceased.
He attended Golden Brook School in Windham, N.H, before being homeschooled for both junior and senior high school.
He has a dual major — computer science and philosophy from Worcester’s Assumption College and an MA in philosophy from Boston College. Prior to entering St. John Seminary, he was a software engineer in Portsmouth, N.H., and Cambridge; and also served as a missionary in Lima, Peru.
He has served his deacon year at St. John the Baptist, Peabody, and St. Thomas the Apostle, Salem. Father Hynes will celebrate his First Mass at St. Patrick Parish, Lawrence, on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. Father Romanus Cessario, OP, will be the homilist.
Rev. Przemyslaw Tomasz Kasprzak
The oldest of the three children, he has a younger sister, Aleksandra Biela, and a younger brother, Adam. His parents are Mariusz and Danuta (Rejentowicz) Kasprzak. He was born in Slupsk, Poland, on May 5, 1984, and grew up in Sw. Maksymiliana Marii Kolbego Parish there.
He attended elementary, middle and high schools in his native Poland: Szkola Podstawowa; Marii Sklodowskiej Curie for middle and high school. He has a master’s degree in production engineering from Technical University of Szczecin, Poland.
He is an alumnus of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary, and has served his deacon year at St. Patrick Parish, Brockton.
He will celebrate his First Mass at the Brockton parish on Sunday, May 19, 2019, at 10:15 a.m.
Rev. Brian Peter O’Hanlon
A native of Falls Church, Virginia, he was born there on Feb. 4, 1986, the oldest of the five children of Peter and Anne (Mares) O’Hanlon. He has three younger sisters: Katherine Bertsche, Meghan and Claire O’Hanlon, and a younger brother James.
He attended local schools in his native Virginia: both Weems and Haydon Elementary schools; Metz Middle School and Osbourn High School all in Manassas. He has BS in mathematics and logic, from Pittsburgh’s Carnegie Mellon University. Prior to entering St. John Seminary, he worked at Mitre Corporation as an information security scientist.
During his deacon year, he has been serving at St. Patrick, Roxbury, Holy Family and St. Peter, Dorchester.
He will celebrate his First Mass at Mary Immaculate of Lourdes, Newton, on May 19, 2019, at 5:30 p.m.
Rev. Mark Teodor Olejnik
Born in Brighton on Nov. 27, 1988, he is one of the eight children of Mark and Elizabeth (Kirchner). Besides Mark, who is second from the youngest, there are seven siblings: Sylvia Munyon, Derek, Jolanda, Larysa Dooley, Anita Cohen, Peter, and the youngest, Adam.
He attended Francis Kane Elementary School and Sarah Gibbons Middle School, both in Marlborough, and Chelsea High School, Chelsea. He has a BA in theology from Boston College.
During his deacon year, he has served at St. Paul Parish, Cambridge.
Father Olejnik will celebrate his First Mass at St. Anthony of Padua Parish, Revere, on Sunday May 19, 2019, at noon; Father Udayakumar Xavariapitchai will be the homilist.
Rev. William Henry Robinson
Born in Waltham on Aug. 12, 1983, he is the older of the two children of William and Cherie (Bolozy) Robinson; he has a younger sister: Cynthia Shea.
He attended public schools in Lexington: Bridge Elementary, Clark Middle, and Lexington High School.
He has a BA in politics from Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y. and a master’s degree in public administration from Boston’s Suffolk University. Prior to entering St. John Seminary, he served as a civilian contract specialist for the United States Air Force at Hanscom Air Base, Bedford. He is currently a member of the Air Force Chaplaincy Program.
His deacon assignment was at St. Thomas Aquinas, Bridgewater.
Father Robinson will celebrate his First Mass at St. Brigid, Lexington on May 19, 2019. Father Richard Erikson will be the homilist.
Rev. Carignan Langlois Rouse
A native of Tallahassee, Florida, he was raised in the Sunshine State’s capital city, attending Buck Lake Elementary, Deer Lake Middle, and Lawton Chiles High School. He has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from St. Philip Seminary, Toronto, Ontario.
During his deacon year, he has served at St. Anthony of Padua or Lisbon (Portuguese) Parish, Cambridge. He will celebrate his First Mass on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at 11:30am at St. Anthony Parish in Cambridge.
Rev. Victor Luna Vitug
The fourth of the nine children of Leonila (Luna) Vitug and the late Juanito Vitug, Father Vitug was born in Quezon, Philippines, on March 5, 1952. He has two brothers José, older, and Roberto, younger; and four sisters, all younger than him: Tersita, Teresa Breneman, Leilana Rixon and Juantia Vitug. Two siblings are deceased: Paul and Gwendolyn.
He attended schools in his native Philippines: Roosevelt in San Juan; University of the East, Manila, and Don Bosco Academy, San Fernando. He was graduated from De la Salle University in Manila with a bachelor of science degree in 1972.
During his deacon year, he has been serving at St. Joseph Parish, Lynn. He will celebrate his First Mass there on May 19, 2019, at 11:30 a.m. He is an alumnus of Redemptoris Mater Archdiocesan Missionary Seminary.
Rev. James Paul Wargovich
Born on May 23, 1993, in Weymouth, Father Wargovich is the son of James and Karen (Murray) Wargovich. He has one older sister, Bridgette; and three younger: Mairead, Catherine, and Grace.
He was homeschooled from elementary through high school and received a B.A. in philosophy from Providence College prior to his entering St. John Seminary. 
During his deacon year, he has been assigned to St. Joseph Parish, Needham.
He will celebrate his First Mass at Corpus Christi Parish, Sandwich, on May 19, 2019, at 10:45 a.m.
