Cardinal Seán P. O’Malley will ordain eleven men to the Priesthood this Saturday, May 25, 2024, at the Cathedral of the Holy Cross. The Ordination Mass begins at 10:00 a.m.
Emphasizing the need to be priests who lead God’s people through a life of prayer, Cardinal Seán said, "We must never lose sight of the mysterious presence of God in the poor, in the sick, in the suffering. Prayer helps us to be kinder, gentler, more patient, more trusting. All genuine prayer leads us to love God and love our neighbor. As priests we are called to be Eucharistic men, and the Eucharist is thanksgiving. As priests, we must cultivate the shepherd's heart, filled with compassion and empathy. It is the capacity for empathy that produces great priests after the heart of Christ.”
The CatholicTV Network will broadcast the entire Mass live from the Cathedral beginning at 10:00 a.m. Please check with your local cable provider for the CatholicTV channel in your area or go to www.CatholicTV.org for more information. The Ordination Mass will also be rebroadcast on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and will be available on-demand at CatholicTV.org.
