Braintree, MA (September 26, 2013) – Cardinal Seán O’Malley and the Board of Trustees for iCatholic Media has announced the appointment of Father Robert Reed as Interim President & CEO. iCatholic Media oversees and coordinates Catholic TV, The Pilot, Pilot New Media, Pilot Bulletins and Printing, and “The Good Catholic Life” radio program.
“We are pleased that Fr. Reed has agreed to serve as Interim President & CEO,” said Sr. Marian Batho, CSJ, Chairperson of iCatholic Media. “Fr. Reed brings a wealth of experience and energy to the position. He understands the ever-changing dynamics of media and has a track record of building CatholicTV into a national television presence, utilizing multiple and integrated platforms. We are blessed by his willingness to share his many gifts in service to the Church.”
Ordained a priest in 1985, Fr. Reed served in parishes in Malden, Norwood, Dorchester, Haverhill and most recently as pastor of Holy Ghost Parish in Whitman, MA. He was appointed to direct CatholicTV in May, 2005 and has collaborated in the rebranding and expansion of the network along with the build-out of a new HD broadcast and production facility.
Fr. Reed is also Director of the Radio Apostolate for the Archdiocese of Boston and often assists at Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Parish in Newton and St. Bonaventure Parish in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
Father Reed was born in Boston and prepared for the priesthood at St. John’s Seminary and the Pontifical North American College in Rome. He holds a Masters Degree in Television Management from Boston University's College of Communication.
A process is beginning, under the leadership of Sr. Marian and the Board of Trustees, to determine the long term goals and operations for iCatholic Media and how the entity can best serve the Church.
