WATERTOWN, MASS. (September 1, 2016) – On September 9 and 10, the CatholicTV Network will hold its 25th Telethon. Each year, CatholicTV holds the Telethon as its most important fundraiser to support its ministry of providing programming that inspires and educates Catholics in the United States and around the world.
The Telethon, which is held over two days, will be hosted by CatholicTV’s Bishop Robert Reed, Jay Fadden, Kevin Nelson, and Kate Andrews. Members of the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters of America will be among the volunteers answering the phones.
This year’s Telethon will feature musical entertainment, highlights from CatholicTV’s most popular shows, and special guest appearances from CatholicTV hosts and friends. Past guests include Matt Weber, Father Dan O’Connell, and Cardinal Seán O’Malley. In recognition of the 25th Telethon, favorite moments from past Telethons will also be featured.
CatholicTV’s Executive Producer, Kevin Nelson, reflected, “It’s wonderful to be celebrating 25 years of Telethon this year! The Telethon along with the CatholicTV Network continues to grow each year. This will be my 20th Telethon and my 17th as producer and each year brings something new.”
Jay Fadden, Executive Vice President/General Manager of CatholicTV, said, “CatholicTV has come so far since that first Telethon 25 years ago. We have raised almost 4 million dollars through the kindness of so many who have donated to the Telethon over the years. I am humbled and overwhelmed by their commitment to grow CatholicTV and their affirmation and support is something that certainly resonates with me.”
Telethon 25 will kick off on Friday, September 9 at 9am ET and run until 9pm. It will continue on Saturday, September 10 from 9am to 10pm. Tune in on cable, CatholicTVLIVE.com, or on CatholicTV’s Apple TV, Roku, or mobile applications.
