WATERTOWN, MASS. (September 16, 2016) – On Saturday, September 17 at 2pm ET, the CatholicTV Network will broadcast live the Mass in honor of the 150 th anniversary of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help icon being entrusted to the Redemptorist Order. The Mass will be celebrated from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. with celebrant and homilist Father Michael Brehl, C.Ss.R., the Superior General of the Redemptorists.
The Mass will be offered during the jubilee celebration of the 150th anniversary of the Redemptorists receiving the Our Lady of Perpetual Help icon into their care. Since the Redemptorists were entrusted with the icon in 1866, they have been answering their call to make Mary known throughout the world.

Boston’s Basilica has been a home to the Redemptorists since the mid-1800s, and houses one of America’s first replicas of the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Icon. CatholicTV airs the Perpetual Help Novena with Father Dabney, featuring the replica, weekly.
