MINISTRY WITH PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES The involvement of persons with disabilities “enriches every aspect of Church life. They are not just recipients of catechesis– they are also agents.” National Directory for Catechesis: Catechesis with Persons with Disabilities (no.49)
The Archdiocesan Ministry with Persons with Disabilities offers the following assistance:
Education and training/workshops on disability issues and awareness.
Assistance in improving access for people with disabilities to the sacramental, liturgical, catechetical, and social areas of Church life in order to increase their active participation in parish worship, ministries and activities.
Technical assistance and support in developing architectural and program access plans.
Pastoral response and presence to individuals and their families.
Provide resources of programs and services available to persons with disabilities.
CATHOLIC YOUTH ORGANIZATION (CYO) ATHLETIC MINISRTY Attention: The following changes have been made to how basketball is managed in the Archdiocese of Boston. Parish leagues will now be managed directly by the regional athletic directors such as Ken Foscaldo for MetroWest and Kevin Lally for the Boston/South Shore Region. If your area or parish/collaborative of the archdiocese is not represented by a regional athletic director, please contact either Ken or Kevin for assistance.
The Catholic School basketball leagues will now be managed separately by the Catholic Schools Office (CSO). Contact John Ribeiro directly for more information.
SCOUTING MINISTRY Any young person individually or as part of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts or American Heritage Girls can learn more about their faith through retreats, religious patches, emblems and awards. CHARISMATIC RENEWAL The primary mission of The Charismatic Renewal in the Archdiocese of Boston is to build communion with God under the inspiration and using the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and fully participate in the communion of the faithful in the Church (cf. CL 20). To this end... the renewal office shall coordinate and maintain a powerful evangelization movement anointed by the Holy Spirit and carried out by spreading the experience of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
