Archdiocese of Boston Applauds Release of New Book to Help Couples Prepare for Marriage

(Braintree, Mass.) August 1, 2013 - The Archdiocese of Boston is pleased to welcome the release of Transformed in Love:  Building Your Catholic Marriage by Pauline Books and Media on August 1 and is grateful to the Daughters of St. Paul for their efforts on behalf of its publication.   Developed under the direction of His Eminence, Cardinal Sean Patrick O’Malley, OFM Cap., Archbishop of Boston, Transformed in Love is a doctrinally sound, practical approach to preparing couples to receive the sacrament of marriage.  The program was the fruit of many years of collaboration by priests, deacons, theologians, religious sisters, psychologists, and married couples working under the guidance of Mrs. Kari Colella, Coordinator of Marriage Ministries in the Archdiocese.   Piloted in parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston, it has been enthusiastically received by engaged couples as well as marriage and family life ministers.

“It is my hope that Transformed in Love will be an instrument of God’s grace in the New Evangelization and that it will serve to strengthen the vocation of marriage not only in our archdiocese but also in the wider Church,” said Cardinal O’Malley.

Transformed in Love is designed to address pastoral challenges produced by current attitudes toward marriage and family life. It helps couples to build strong foundations for a lasting married life.   It connects them with fundamental teachings of the Catholic faith, clarifies the nature of the marriage bond and the graces that flow from sacramental marriage, and offers practical skills for living out a Christian marriage through the witness of married couples.

The Archdiocese is delighted that, through the efforts of the Daughters of St. Paul working with our Archdiocesan offices, this program is now available to the dioceses and parishes across the country.  Pauline Books and Media have created an informative website, http://www.transformedinlove.com, as well as a host of other educational materials about this excellent new program for marriage preparation and family faith formation.
