Confessions will be available Wednesday evenings in Lent, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, in all parishes Braintree, MA (March 3, 2015): The invitation to experience Christ’s love through the Sacrament of Reconciliation is one of the major initiatives of Cardinal Seán O'Malley and the Archdiocese of Boston. The Light is on For You initiative highlights the importance of this sacrament in the life of Catholics and increases its availability, hoping that every Catholic will visit this source of God’s mercy and healing love.
Lent is a time of prayer, fasting, penitence, almsgiving and self-sacrifice in preparation to celebrate the passion of Christ, His death on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter Sunday. Each year, the season of Lent provides an opportunity to renew faithfulness, and for those who have been away from the regular practice of the faith this initiative offers a chance to begin again. Confessions will be available Wednesday evenings in Lent, 6:30 – 8:00 PM, in all parishes.
Material is available to help with personal preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation at www.TheLightIsOnForYou.org. Please make plans to come and invite others to take advantage of this great opportunity to be reconciled with and begin anew a journey in faith during the Lenten season.
Encourage one another by reflecting on your experiences this Lent by using the hashtag #LiveLent on Twitter and Facebook. Be sure to include @BostonCatholic in your updates. The Light is on For You website has helpful resources, including some wonderful video's and guides for making confession.
