Please join the Archdiocese of Boston's Social Justice Ministry, in collaboration with the Boston Catholic Climate Movement. for a special webinar entitled Hope for our Common Home: Catholics Care for Creation on Saturday, October 26, 2024, beginning at 10am. During the webinar, two national Social Justice leaders will discuss the moral imperatives of caring for God’s creation and helping us to discover opportunities to work together to confront these calamities.

In his encyclical, Laudato Si’, Pope Francis urges us to listen to the cries of the poor and cries of the earth. We are called to protect life and preserve all that sustains life on earth. As Catholics, what can we do? what moral obligations do we have to understand and respond?  what responsibility do we have to engage and act?
 
Moderated by Deacon Tim Donohue, Co-Leader of RCAB Social Justice Ministries, the featured speakers are:

•       Bishop Mark O’Connell, RCAB Auxiliary Bishop and Vicar General of Boston
•       Dr. Erin Lothes, Theologian and Manager of the Laudato Si’ Movement Animators Program
•       Dr. Christina Slentz, Diocesan Director for Care of Creation, Archdiocese of San Diego (CA)

This one-and-a-half-hour program will be a leadup to next spring's 16th Social Justice Convocation to be held at Boston College High School (Dorchester) on Saturday, March 29, 2025. A return to ‘in-person’ programing, it will feature Rev. Andrea Vicini, S.J, Chairman of the Theology Department at Boston College as well as a panel discussion, workshops, and a marketplace of ideas.
